About Power Tech Consulting
Power Tech is a data, AI, cloud, and transformation consultancy serving mining, financial services, hospitality, and government clients across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Singapore, and India. We're multi-vendor, so we recommend what's right, not what's easy to sell, and we're building our own products alongside client work.
Service through contribution. Trust through transparency. Accountable from end to end. Join us and help shape what Power Tech becomes.
About the Role
Power Tech Nexus is the product company of the Power Tech group. We build and run our own AI-driven software products for businesses in Australia and the region. We are a small team growing deliberately, so every hire shapes how the product and the engineering practice turn out.
As Head of Quality & Delivery (Offshore), you'll lead that team's delivery and quality. You'll own how work is planned, governed, staffed, tested, and released, and you'll build the standards, metrics, and habits that let our Australian clients and leadership trust what the offshore team delivers. Our QA Manager, delivery leads, and project managers report to you, and you'll work closely with our practice leads, the CISO, and onshore client leads.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the offshore delivery and quality functions in India, covering client projects and Nexus product work across engineering, data, Power Platform, Odoo, and testing.
• Own delivery governance across the portfolio, including planning, status reporting, RAID logs, change control, and stage gates, so every engagement has a clear plan and an honest status.
• Manage resourcing and capacity, allocating people to projects, forecasting demand from the sales pipeline, and flagging hiring needs early.
• Hold delivery to time, budget, and scope, and act as the escalation point for Australian clients and onshore leads, joining steering meetings where needed.
• Set the quality strategy, including the test approach, quality gates for every release, and a Definition of Done, so quality is built in rather than tested in at the end.
• Lead the QA function through the QA Manager, covering test planning, manual and automated testing, UAT support, and release sign-off.
• Drive test automation and CI release gates, working with our QA engineers and DevOps and Platform Engineer.
• Define and report delivery and quality metrics monthly, including on-time delivery, estimate accuracy, escaped defects, test coverage, and client satisfaction.
• Run root-cause analysis on major defects and delivery issues, and make sure the lessons are acted on, not just recorded.
• Set delivery and quality standards, templates, and handover expectations, aligned with our ISO/IEC 27001 and 42001 controls.
• Hire, develop, and retain the offshore delivery and QA team, working with practice leads on hiring, onboarding, performance, and career paths.
• Support pre-sales with delivery estimates, staffing plans, and test approaches, and manage subcontractors and vendors delivering alongside our team.
Must-Have Skills and Experience
• 12+ years in IT services or software delivery, including 5+ years leading offshore delivery and QA teams.
• A track record of running a portfolio of concurrent projects for Australian, UK, or US clients, delivered on time and within budget, that you can walk us through at interview.
• A strong software quality background, including leading a QA function, setting test strategy, and introducing test automation and release gates.
• Strong delivery governance in both Agile and traditional delivery, including planning, RAID management, and change control.
• Experience managing resourcing, capacity, and utilisation in a services organisation.
• Proven people leadership, including hiring, developing, and retaining technical teams and managing performance.
• Confidence handling escalations with senior client stakeholders, and excellent written and spoken English.
• A metrics-driven approach, defining and reporting delivery and quality measures that leadership can act on.
Desirable Skills
• Certifications such as ISTQB Advanced Test Manager, PMP, PRINCE2, or SAFe.
• Experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium, and CI/CD release gates.
• Delivery or testing experience on ERP (Odoo), Power Platform, data, or AI projects, including testing AI features where outputs vary.
• Experience working within ISO/IEC 27001 or ISO 9001 controls.
• Experience building or scaling an offshore delivery centre from a small base.
• Experience using AI tools to improve delivery management and testing.
Education
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
What Success Looks Like
• Releases ship with few escaped defects, and clients notice the quality of what the offshore team delivers.
• Projects land on time and within budget, and client escalations are rare and resolved quickly.
• Quality gates and delivery metrics give leadership a clear, honest view of the portfolio, with risks surfaced early.
• The offshore team is well staffed and stable, and automated test coverage grows release by release.
