About Power Tech Consulting
Power Tech is a data, AI, cloud, and transformation consultancy serving mining, financial services, hospitality, and government clients across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Singapore, and India. We're multi-vendor, so we recommend what's right, not what's easy to sell, and we're building our own products alongside client work.
Service through contribution. Trust through transparency. Accountable from end to end. Join us and help shape what Power Tech becomes.
About the Role
Power Tech Nexus is the product company of the Power Tech group. We build and run our own AI-driven software products for businesses in Australia and the region. We are a small team growing deliberately, so every hire shapes how the product and the engineering practice turn out.
Our client work across ERP implementation, data and AI, and business transformation depends on understanding the need properly before anything is built. As Lead Business Analyst, you'll lead that work on our engagements for clients across Australia and the region, working remotely with their teams from India. You'll stay hands-on in workshops and requirements, while guiding our other analysts and setting the standards they work to.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead business analysis on client engagements, from discovery and current-state analysis through to delivered and adopted change.
• Run stakeholder workshops and interviews with client teams, and turn what you hear into clear, prioritised requirements.
• Map current- and future-state business processes, identifying gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Write requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that consultants and engineers can build and test against.
• Own traceability from requirements through design, build, and test, and support UAT planning and execution.
• Work with architects, consultants, and developers to shape solutions that meet the need without unnecessary complexity.
• Produce process documentation, standard operating procedures, and training material that help clients adopt the change.
• Lead, review, and mentor our business analysts, and set our BA standards, templates, and ways of working.
• Support pre-sales, including discovery, scoping, and estimating.
Must-Have Skills and Experience
• 10+ years in business analysis, including leading the BA work on at least two full projects from discovery to go-live.
• Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder management, including with senior client stakeholders, working remotely across time zones.
• Proven process mapping skills, using BPMN or a similar notation, and clear requirements writing.
• Experience on ERP, data, or digital transformation projects.
• Experience in both Agile and traditional delivery, using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience leading, reviewing, or mentoring other business analysts.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
Desirable Skills
• Experience on ERP implementations such as Odoo, SAP, or Dynamics 365.
• Experience defining requirements for reporting and data projects, such as Power BI dashboards, or for AI solutions.
• A recognised business analysis certification such as CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA.
• Consulting experience with Australian clients, ideally in mining, financial services, or government.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude in day-to-day analysis work.
Education
A bachelor's degree in business, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
What Success Looks Like
• The requirements you lead are clear enough that solutions are built right first time, with little rework from missed or misunderstood needs.
• Client stakeholders trust you to run their workshops and to represent their needs accurately to the delivery team.
• Our BA standards and templates are used consistently across engagements, not documented and shelved.
• The analysts you lead and mentor grow visibly in skill and confidence.
