Security, Compliance and Group IT Administrator
A hands-on testing role. You'll make sure what we release works the way users need it to, designing and running tests across web, mobile, and API, finding defects before our clients do, and helping grow our automated regression coverage.

About the Role
Power Tech Nexus is the product company of the Power Tech group. We build and run our own AI-driven software products for businesses in Australia and the region. We are a small team growing deliberately, so every hire shapes how the product and the engineering practice turn out.
We deliver software for our clients and build our own products, and every release needs to work the way users expect. As Software Tester, you'll work with our developers, business analysts, and QA team to test what we build, from reviewing requirements before development starts to supporting clients through user acceptance testing. You'll work remotely from India with a team spread across India and Australia, reporting to our QA Manager.
Key Responsibilities
• Review requirements and user stories early, and help make acceptance criteria clear and testable before development starts.
• Write and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data.
• Run functional, integration, and regression testing across web, mobile, and API.
• Carry out exploratory testing to find the issues that scripted tests miss.
• Test APIs using tools such as Postman, and validate data using SQL.
• Log defects clearly in Jira, retest fixes, and track them through to closure.
• Contribute to our automated regression suites alongside our QA engineers.
• Support clients and business users through user acceptance testing.
• Report test progress, risks, and quality status clearly to the QA Manager.
• Work with developers and analysts across India and Australia, with dependable overlap with Australian business hours.
Must-Have Skills and Experience
• 3–5 years of hands-on software testing, including web applications and ideally mobile or API.
• Strong manual testing skills, including test design techniques, writing test cases, and regression testing.
• Experience managing defects in Jira or a similar tool, with clear reports that developers can act on without follow-up questions.
• Hands-on API testing experience with Postman or a similar tool.
• Working SQL skills for checking and validating data.
• Experience testing in Agile or Scrum teams.
• Excellent written and spoken English, and confidence working remotely across time zones.
Desirable Skills
• An ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Experience testing ERP, Power Platform, or data and reporting solutions, such as Odoo or Power BI.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Experience testing AI features, where outputs can vary between runs.
Education
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
What Success Looks Like
• Defects are found and fixed before release, not reported by clients after it.
• Your test cases are clear, maintained, and reused, so regression testing gets faster with each release.
• Developers can act on your defect reports straight away, without back-and-forth.
• The QA Manager has a clear, honest view of release quality, and client UAT runs smoothly.
