About Power Tech Nexus

Power Tech Nexus is the product company of the Power Tech group. We build and run our own AI-driven software products for businesses in Australia and the region. We are a small team growing deliberately, so every hire shapes how the product and the engineering practice turn out.

What you will do

  • Author, review and apply infrastructure as code (Bicep and Terraform) through pull requests, with every plan or what-if reviewed before apply
  • Build and maintain CI/CD in GitHub Actions using federated (OIDC) credentials, not stored secrets
  • Run containerised workloads on AKS and Azure Container Apps, and on AWS container services, releasing immutable image versions
  • Deploy and operate the model gateway (API Management) and self-hosted model serving (vLLM on AKS GPU node pools)
  • Implement identity, secrets and network security through IaC, to the design set by the architect and the standards set by our CISO
  • Build observability that tells the truth: logs, metrics, alerting and health checks
  • Keep environments separated and free of drift, and produce ISO 27001 control evidence as part of normal work

Technical Requirements

Must-have

  • Production Azure: Entra ID managed identities and RBAC, Key Vault, API Management, VNets and private endpoints
  • Infrastructure as code in production with Bicep or Terraform (and willing to work in both), all changes by pull request with plan or what-if in CI and drift detection; no portal changes
  • GitHub Actions to a production standard, including OIDC federation to Azure and AWS, environments and approvals
  • Kubernetes in production, ideally AKS: node pools, ingress, autoscaling and upgrades
  • Working AWS: IAM, VPC networking and ECS or EKS
  • Observability with Azure Monitor and KQL, or Grafana and Prometheus, with alerts tied to runbooks
  • A habit of verifying the running system after a change, not assuming it worked

Desirable

  • GPU node pools and vLLM serving on AKS: quotas, scheduling and capacity planning under limited GPU supply
  • API Management as an AI gateway (token limits, routing, logging)
  • Python or PowerShell scripting
  • PostgreSQL operations
  • AZ-400, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional or HashiCorp Terraform Associate
  • Producing audit evidence into a GRC platform (we use Scrut)

Who you will work with

  • Lead architect: designs the platform, gateway and identity model you implement
  • Senior AI Engineers: build on the gateway and model-serving platform you run
  • Security & Compliance Officer: reviews access and evidence; you implement, they assure

How we work

  • Small, senior team with a short path from idea to production
  • AI-assisted engineering is part of the daily workflow, not an experiment
  • Azure-first, with AWS where a product needs it. All infrastructure is code (Bicep or Terraform), changed through reviewed pull requests in GitHub, never by hand in the portal
  • Security is built in from the start: we are ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified and are implementing ISO/IEC 42001 for AI management
  • Done means deployed and verified running, not merged
  • We write things down: runbooks, decisions and handovers

How to apply

Apply with your CV and a short note on something you built or ran that you are proud of, and what you would do differently next time. We read every application and reply to everyone.

Applicants must have the right to work in their country of residence (India preferred).

Power Tech Nexus is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants regardless of gender, age, religion, caste, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, marital status or background, and we will make reasonable adjustments during the hiring process. Tell us what you need.
